To protect the Family Home a special Home Protection Trust can be set up which protects it against judgments and liens. Neither the LLC, LLP, or Living Trust is effective to protect the Family Home from loss to creditors, lawsuits or court judgments. There is a mistaken belief by many that an LLC, LLP or Living Trust will protect the personal family home. This is not true. The Mortgage interest deduction is lost.
